Christie Winmill

Clinics Manager & Frontdesk Team Leader

Christie’s Story
My dad had been a teacher and Deputy Principal at a Catholic School in Inverell for 25 years and in 1996 decided he had had enough of school teaching and went for a complete career change (into operating a TAB) – which resulted in our move to QLD.

I have 3 younger brothers and I credit this to my competitive nature (I always wanted to beat them at everything… and did

My parents always encouraged us to have a go at anything we wanted to, and because of this I tried most sports. Going on to represent NSW at Junior Basketball level, then QLD for both Soccer and Touch Football, and most recently have been a member of the QLD Half Marathon Team for the past 3 consecutive years.

My parents, along with my PE teachers in High School, were my biggest influencers during my upbringing and also taught me that dedication and consistency brings results. But most of all that if you love doing something and it brings you joy then to keep doing it regardless of whether you think you are good at it or not.

I completed Year 12 and went on to begin studying a Bachelor of Education but decided during my 2nd semester that I wasn’t sure if it was for me deferred my studies to work for some money for a while. I didn’t ever return to Uni, instead trying a couple of Career pathways before finding myself a part of a Physio Admin Team at a clinic that I had been a client at.

It was the first job that I had had where I felt like I was where I ‘belonged’. I loved meeting the clients whom walked through the door and for those whom became regulars – getting to celebrate milestones along their journey from injuries, to back competing and doing what they love. I felt that I could relate to a lot of the clients with my own background that included trips to the Physio along with I have a very keen interest in the body and how it performs, so it seems like a natural environment to be in.

I progressed on to a Leadership role during my time at the previous clinic, with the drive to always want to know more / learn more / do more, along with finding out ways to do things better / faster / more efficiently, etc.

Fast forward to August / September 2018 and I had started trail running with Britt, and loved it almost instantly! Quickly finding myself begging both Britt, and my coach Adsy, to let me do all of Britt’s long training runs with her as she prepared for the Kepler Challenge in November 2018.

During the many training hours spent out on the trails, I got to know Britt, and discovered that there was no longer a Front Desk Team Leader at Gold Coast Physio & Sports Health. I loved Britt’s enthusiasm and passion for Mygcphysio, along with the high regard and respect that she held for her staff and clients alike… I wanted to be a part of this ‘Mygcphysio’ family that Britt spoke about so often! and here I am Front Desk Team Leader at Mygcphysio

Aside from being the Front Desk Team leader at Gold Coast Physio & Sports Health, My most important life role is as a Mum to the most wonderful of special gifts – a daughter named Zahli.
