I was raised in Townsville, North Queensland, in a military family. Both of my parents are veterans, with over 40 years of combined service. Growing up, they taught me the importance of hard work, resilience, discipline, and looking out for your mates. My childhood was shaped by sport, especially rugby league, as well as fishing, camping, BBQs, heatwaves, cyclones, and the strong community spirit of North Queensland.

From the age of 14, I knew I wanted to work in healthcare, specifically physiotherapy. This came from my passion for helping people and my interest in understanding how the body moves, adapts, and recovers.

I began working in healthcare at 18 as a hospital orderly in an emergency department while completing a Health Science degree in Townsville. After graduating, I worked as a physiotherapy assistant in a multidisciplinary rehabilitation centre, where I gained experience with a wide range of patients and conditions. I later moved into musculoskeletal healthcare as a massage therapist, working alongside physiotherapists, osteopaths, and remedial therapists, which helped me develop strong hands-on skills. During this time, I also completed my dry needling certificate.

In 2025, I moved to the Gold Coast to study Physiotherapy with Honours. My studies have reinforced that physiotherapy is my dream career. While studying, I have also been running a mobile massage therapy business, which has helped me build confidence, communication skills, independence, and clinical reasoning. However, it has also reminded me how much I value working within a team environment.

I was first exposed to Gold Coast Physio & Sports Health while contracted at the National Swimming Competition. I found the team to be professional, welcoming, knowledgeable, and passionate. After learning more about the clinic, its services, and its multidisciplinary team, I became very eager for the opportunity to join.

A major challenge I faced was the 2019 Townsville floods, where my home was completely flooded and I lost most of my belongings. Living out of a suitcase for months while continuing work and university was difficult, but it taught me resilience, gratitude, and adaptability.
