Runaway Bay Physio Sarah Bombell

Our Physio Sarah Bombell recently performed oversees as part of Aerial Artistry:-

Being a synchronized swimmer you can cop a bit of criticism, however one of the perks is having the opportunity to travel the world and perform.  Recently I was lucky enough travel with the circus group Aerial Artistry for a one off performance in Macau, China.

This was my first trip to Macau, which can only be described at Chinese Vegas buzzing with bright lights, massive hotels and casinos.  The show was for a private function themed ‘Summer BBQ’ at the Sands Hotel. We had a team of four synchro girls with a “bubble girl” who contorts inside a big transparent ball that floats on the water. Our performance was to the Duffy song “Rain on Your Parade” and coincidently the heavens opened and poured down half way through our routine, almost like it was choreographed to add dramatic effect.

Unfortunately the trip was only short, staying for just 2 nights, such is the life of a performer.  It has always been a childhood dream of mine to run away and join the circus, so I guess I’m lucky my sport gives me these opportunities.

Sarah has a keen interest in management and treatment of acrobats, performers, synchronised swimmers, and is available for consult at Runaway Bay clinic.
